Wei Hu, Oracle
Wei Hu of Oracle joins theCUBE Research host Dave Vellante for a session at Oracle Data Deep Dive in New York City. The session examines a globally distributed artificial intelligence database, Raft consensus replication, True Cache and the implications for agentic AI in mission-critical enterprise deployments. Hu draws on their work in high availability technologies to explain how Oracle’s globally distributed AI database employs Raft-based replication, strong consistency and in-memory vector scaling to support low-latency cross-region workloads. They describe True Cache as a self-managing layer that keeps cached data current and reduces operational overhead. They also detail how Raft consensus and synchronous replication enable automatic failover in under three seconds with zero data loss, and they discuss data distribution policies and architectural trade-offs for scalability and resilience. The session also explores cloud automation and elasticity as essential factors for scaling agentic AI workloads and enabling new monetization models. Topics of interest for architects and platform owners include distributed database design, vector database performance, data sovereignty and operational considerations for enterprise AI deployment.
