NTT Announces Distribution and Training Agreement with Cloudera
At Hadoop World 2010, the announcement between NTT and Cloudera was made, adding to the excitement and energy of the conference. When asked about the market opportunity for an NTT/Cloudera partnership, Shinichi Yamada with NTT Data Corporation, said that there are two types of opportunity in Japan: is in the existing technology and with the company, who focuses on big data applications. The interest in Japan has increased with a focus on Hadoop with the software selling quickly in the country, and a massive increase in requests from people. Shinichi Yamada was asked how companies in Japan are using Hadoop, and if it's being utilized in the same way as in the United States, and while companies would prefer to keep that information confidential, Hadoop is being used in the Telecom industry to analyze data. This type of tech is growing immensely in the Asian continent, making news like this all the more exciting.
