John Schroeder is the CEO of MapR, and joins SiliconAngle's John Furrier and Wikibon's Dave Vellante inside theCUBE at the Strata Hadoop World 2012.
John opens the panel, at what he calls, "Big data week in New York City"
Vellante askes Schroeder about MapR's use of Hadoop, whether or not MapR had been using Hadoop in the early days, and how it's working for their big data needs.
Schroeder said that he could see Hadoop's benefits right from the beginning, what with their real-time analytics, he knew right from the start that this partnership would not just be ideal, but beneficial, not just logistically, but also in terms of cost.
He also talked about MapR revealing its plans to offer Hadoop distribution on-demand.
Of their announcement, the MapR CEO released a statement,
"Off-premise, on-demand computing is an important part of the future for Hadoop. MapR is solidifying that future by partnering with Google and leveraging their cost-effective, high performance and scale-out infrastructure."
