Wikibon's Dave Vellante and SiliconAngle's John Furrier
talk inside theCUBE, about what they expect to see at
Strata Hadoop World 2012.
John asks Dave what he is looking to see at this years
Strata Hadoop event.
Dave says the theme's he is looking to see discussed
are applications and application platforms (something
he has noticed has been lacking in coverage), real-time
query capabilities within the Hadoop platform.
John brings up the great point of "the big misunderstanding gap".
he attributes the misunderstanding to the explosion of
big data of late and a lot of people misinterpretation of Hadoop
as being Big Data itself.
He says that the idea of big data is rampant, but there has
been virtually little to no attention to the data itself. This is what
causes this gap.
One thing is clear "analytics really matter" and
"the business side is relevant" to impact business value. John believes,
these are themes that both stem from and affect big data.
And merit the attention of the event.
