Since Polycom Inc. first started using Splunk Inc. products, it has been able to drastically improve its proactive detection services, expanding from a “40 percent proactive detection rate to a 67 percent detection rate,” said Garrett Zorigian, SVP of Products at Polycom. Spunk has enabled Polycom to “see what’s happening” across 40 different customer environments and provide a 24-7 service that detects and fixes problems before customers even know something is wrong.
The capabilities Splunk offers Polycom, Zorigian said, has “opened eyes and checkbooks” across the organization. Other departments have been so impressed with Splunk that many of them, including IT services, not only started using Splunk but will be joining Zorigian’s Product department when the migrate to the Splunk cloud.
When it comes to Splunk’s future investments, Zorigian called out that he’s particularly excited for Splunk to make pattern detection native to the software. This tool will make finding patterns in vast amount of data easier, enabling faster results and more powerful learnings. Because analytics is key to the company, Zorigian said that Polycom is “ready to grow rapidly with Splunk” and expand “from gigabytes to terabytes” so they can continue to offer increasingly innovative services to their customers.
