How one company works to simplify Big Data analytics | #SparkSummit
by Heather Johnson | Feb 17, 2016
The common question among businesses with access to vast amounts of data is: “What do I do with it?” Qubole, Inc. aims to simplify, speed and scale Big Data analytics workloads against data stored on AWS, Google or Azure clouds.
The data processor provides self-service analytics using SQL queries that run in analytic engines such as Spark. “Qubole provides full automation on the back end,” said Ashish Thusoo, CEO of Qubole, Inc.
Thusoo told Dave Vallente, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, that Qubole works with marketers, product designers and other clients to solve business problems. “Marketers analyze click stream data and impression data to do user modeling and determine what campaigns work best,” says Thuloo. “In product analytics, clients analyze what users do with their products and how they can improve.”

Thusoo also pointed out how Big Data can help enable use-cases because of a lower price point.
Creating a complete platform
With offices in Mountain View, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, Qubole has the funding to move forward with its vision to simplify Big Data. “We are heavily focused on creating a complete platform,” said Thusoo. “And as cloud adoption increases, Qubole will be provided as an option.”
