Security now an expectation in the cloud, says Secure 24 CTO | #oow15
by R. Danes | Oct 27, 2015
Secure-24, LLC Co-Chief Technology Officer Sean Donaldson wants to change the way his customers look at security. People should start to see security as something continually evolving and improving, he explained to Stu Miniman and Brian Gracely, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team.
“It’s a living ecosystem,” he said. Secure 24’s team is constantly looking at ways to improve the security features they offer, and they want customers to abandon the old view of security as something you install once and forget about. The payoff for their increased attention is a security system that keeps up with and blocks threats as they arise.
Donaldson also stated that with Secure 24’s management, there is no on/off switch for security — it’s baked in, and that is what gives their company an edge over their competitors. “I think security is to the point where it’s an expectation now,” he said.
Secure 24 is working to quell fears about security in the cloud
The company is diligently working to quell long-standing fears customers have about moving their data to the cloud. One way the company does this is through transparency and auditing.
“We are audited three times a year,” he said. “It is a lot, but it also proves to our customers our commitment to security and compliance.”
Donaldson stated that the company is making progress in getting enterprise applications into the cloud. “We are in a great situation,” he said of Secure 24’s increasing use of enterprise apps.
