What could physical retail stores do with all the data their organizations have amassed? It seems that not only is Foot Locker, Inc. managing its data, it is also putting it to good use. Robert Perkins, VP of Talent Management at Foot Locker, Inc., and Alexis Trigo, director of Store Capabilty at Foot Locker, talked with Dave Vellante (@dvellante), host of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during Inforum 2016 in NYC about Foot Locker and how it effectively uses its data. Leading the way Foot Locker is one of the leading athletic retailers and has storefronts across the globe. With so many stores, it also has a large number of employees. Foot Locker as a brand must manage the talent coming into its organization, and that’s where Infor, Inc. comes in. Foot Locker partners with Infor to use its talent science data, which allows Foot Locker to choose potential candidates who best fit the brand and culture of its organization. There is a journey that customers take when they enter a Foot Locker store, and talent science ensures the best possible people are there for the ride. Talent science not only takes into account the parameters set by an organization, it also considers an applicant’s potential. It is the first line of defense in the hiring process. Moving forward As more data comes in, a company’s ability to asses its future employees will become easier. At Foot locker, it has many candidates but “it’s about finding the right talent,” said Trigo. Having the right talent puts a company ahead of the game, and that is exactly where Foot Locker’s talent science wants to be.
