(HPE). The most significant change is the customer’s desire to move closer to the application. “Whether it’s the pure software defined, hyperconverged, or just being able to consume the infrastructure that they have, it’s all about customer choice,” Philbin said. “We’re moving from converged systems to a composable infrastructure, which is about customer choice.” The provisioning of storage Philbin told Dave Vellante and John Furrier, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during HPE Discover in London that customer choice will focus on simplicity. “One of the trends we’re seeing is a move from purpose-built to enabling the application administrator to own the provisioning of storage,” he said. As for other storage business changes, Philbin said that server and storage must work together better. “Server and storage can be doing more things together as flash goes into the server,” he said. “Our work as a server vendor will proceed. We don’t have to educate customers anymore.” @theCUBE #HPEDiscover
