Kickoff Day 3 | HP Discover 2015
HP Discover day 3 highlights: Storage and more #theCUBE #HPDiscover #HPEDiscover #HP #HPE #SiliconANGLE by Heather Johnson | Jun 6, 2015 As HP Discover headed into its final day, theCUBE cohosts Dave Vellante and Jeff Frick reviewed the announcements from the past two days and discussed how HP can remain at the forefront in a competitive industry. Vellante noted the risk involved in HP’s forthcoming split into HP, Inc. and HP Enterprise. Although HP could take a hit during the change, “The split is inevitable,” Vellante said. “They are two different businesses. One is higher margin; one is low margin. They have different business models, different channels of distribution, and fundamentally require different management approaches and go-to-market models. The split will be disruptive. It’s impossible for it not to be. But the outcome will be more focused, and it will be a lot easier to track HP and for investors to understand HP.” The strength to grow Frick agreed, noting that “HP has the strength to grow.” The cohosts noted the huge benefit in HP’s Aruba Networks, Inc. acquisition, especially after the San Francisco 49ers new Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, chose Aruba for its Wi-Fi network. “Is Aruba to networking what 3PAR is to storage side?” Frick inquired. It’s possible, the cohosts determined. Regardless, Vellante said HP “shouldn’t be shy about putting products forward” because it leads in multiple markets. @theCUBE #HPDiscover
