The quest for a more unified HP
by Heather Johnson | Jun 4, 2015
At this year’s HP Discover, the company discussed a more solutions-oriented focus and a shift toward a more unified Hewlett-Packard, Co. Why the change?
“The answer is simple: our customers demand it,” Antonio Neri, senior VP and general manager of HP’s Enterprise Group, told SiliconANGLE’s premier video broadcast show, theCUBE, during the event. “When you think about the pace of change we’re going through today, customers demand a partner that delivers solutions that focus on business outcomes. Their biggest challenge is time to value. We are in a unique position because we can provide our customers solutions to enhance business outcomes so they can move with the speed, the agility and the cost that they need to serve their customers.”
HP increases its networking presence
HP also increased its networking presence with the acquisition of Aruba Networks, Inc., a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise.
“We have an incredible set of assets on our switching side, but we needed to increase our presence on the wireless software side,” said Neri. “Aruba brings tremendous innovation with their on-premises solution, their Cloud Wi-Fi solution and vertical focus. You’re going to see tremendous traction within the next 90 days.”
Neri also predicted growth in the professional services sector.
“We already have a strong presence with our TS consulting and enterprise services, as well as our software professional services,” he said. “We’re going to bring them closer together and focus on unique business practices around four key transformation areas.”
