New search engine makes data instantly searchable, increases data retention | #HS16SJ

Fortune 400 and Fortune 500 companies are competing with smaller enterprises. In order to stay competitive, these smaller businesses need to change how they’re doing business, explained Joey Echeverria, platform technical lead at Rocana, Inc.
Rocana is helping businesses make that change by focusing on scalability and security. The company recognizes that companies care most about how their processes impact their customers and their bottom lines. Echeverria was interviewed by John Furrier (@furrier), host of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during Hadoop Summit US in San Jose, CA.
New features for analytics
One of the features Rocana has announced is a brand new search engine. This search engine makes data instantly searchable and increases data retention. It’s also crafted so that the archived data doesn’t impact the current inflow. Another feature is an anomaly system, with everything available at the user’s fingertips.
With these built-in analytics, you’re notified immediately if something goes wrong. It’s embedded in the architecture so users can respond in real time. Rocana has taken care so that the user doesn’t drown in notifications, however. It has created a system that will only signal you when there are actually potential threats.
“We can differentiate from noise and actual signal by using predictive intervals,” said Echeverria.
Happy users and positive feedback
The feedback has been very positive so far. The main problem the company solves is that of visibility of data, archiving data, and allowing customers to monitor such things as traffic on website in real-time, so if something goes wrong they can jump on it right away.
Customers also enjoy the price, he said. Based on how many users the customers wish to have, it allows customers to not have to worry about how much data they’re using or pick and choose what data to keep. “Happy users drives our business. The number one reason customers talk to us is our user model,” said Echeverria.
