Co-Founder of Qubole, Ashish Thusoo, was one of many in attendance at this past years Hadoop Summit 2013. Thusoo was joined by SiliconAngle's Head Writer Winston Edmondson, for a chat the event, and Qubole's Big Data Solution.
Qubole's managed Hadoop cluster platform, called QDS, helps users to free up their resources by "eliminating most of the plumbing work associated with Big Data environments."
As far as big data is concerned, Thusoo considers analitics to be easy; collection of data is the difficult task. In order to accomplish this task, Qubole's QDS platform performs no less than four and up to eight times faster than services provided by their competitors.
When asked about where QDS could showcase it's best characteristics, Ashish notes two case scenario's: online advertising and social media analytics.
Thusoo and his associate, Qubole co-founder Joydeep Sarma, inititally created Hive, to address Big Data issues for the ever expanding Facebook. This is probably attributed to Thusoo's obvious interest and excitement in the social networking scene.
