Hadoop has been something of a saving grace for companies looking to aggregate large amounts of data, but controlling access to that data has been a prominent security concern for the Big Data industry. Discussing his company’s role in encrypting data for Hadoop systems is George Billman, Senior Director of Business Development and Technical Alliances for Voltage Security.
“Hadoop is all about aggregating data and ensuring confidential data doesn’t go into the wrong places. Voltage encrypts it and protects the sensitive information before it gets into Hadoop, so we are a vital partner and compliment to the Hadoop world,” explained Billman during a live interview with theCUBE at the recently concluded Hadoop on the Hudson Party.
