Danes | Mar 8, 2016 If you’re thinking of packing up and trying the digital nomad lifestyle, you may soon get your chance. Telecommunications companies are going high tech and leaving bosses with fewer excuses to require employees to trek into the office every day. CaféX Communications, Inc. is one company that is using technology to provide easy, frictionless ways to facilitate collaboration in real time, or as CaféX CEO Rami Musallam would say, “Make together happen.” Musallam told John Furrier, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, about how his company is improving by using new technology to provide a unique one-stop platform for collaborators. A business can be totally cloud native, no infrastructure, no brick and mortar, and still employ a team of workers who produce and make profits with the tools on CaféX, he said. By pooling the best communication apps on one platfrom — such as Chime for one-click video collaboration — Musallam said that CaféX simplifies the telecommunications experience and provides a much-needed mobility aspect. Unified Communications-as a Service, or not? Unified Communications as a Service is undeniably hot right now — like pretty much Anything as a Service — but Musallam has misgivings about going the whole hog. He said that CafeX will maintain flexibility. “We will provide it as a service, but at the same time, you can consume it within your enterprise as you wish,” he stated. He also said that the draw with as-a-service is the reduction of complexities, but, “Often those complexities come out of the price in that you need to subscribe to the service.” He said one-size-fits-all sounds alluring and simple, but snafus may lurk below the surface. “From a security and compliance perspective, it may not adhere to everything,” he said.
