Integration platforms zoom in on prospects with 360 CX view
Big-data lakes provide a spacious repository to store data. But actual business outcomes aren’t achieved by dumping data in a vault. So many data points are needed to get to actionable insight, one must perform small analytics and connectivity miracles. One of which comes in the form of artificial intelligence, particularly if it’s part of an integration platform as a service.
“The world has become so data intensive that access to data is not the problem — it’s the integration and the derivation of value from it,” said Jason Cook (pictured), managing director at Accenture Plc. An ounce of analytics with actual business value requires a pound of data. What’s worse is that pound is divided into morsels scattered across different data warehouses. What means have enterprises come up with to pull things together for advanced data analytics?
Accenture plays a dual role both advising on and delivering new technologies. Through its work with clients, it is learning how integration tools can improve visibility and connectivity across disparate data sources. It works with Dell Boomi, a cloud-native iPaaS, through a program called Accenture Growth Partnerships.
Cook spoke with Lisa Martin (@LisaMartinTV) and John Furrier (@furrier), co-hosts of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile livestreaming studio, during the Dell Boomi World event in Las Vegas. They discussed how companies are tackling data integration for various analytics purposes. (* Disclosure below.)
Data points are all in on iPaaS
The trend in customer experience lately is to provide businesses with a data profile with a single, panoramic view of any given customer. Government entities also need a 360 view of citizens and taxpayers, Cook said.
“There’s so much information on that person in so many disparate places that has to be brought together in a cohesive way,” he said. “Not only that, but brought together and then used effectively in serving that person. And that’s where we see a lot of value.”
Cloud infrastructure and services, and integration technologies like Boomi help connect all that information from disparate environments and deliver outcomes, Cook said.
New governance methods that are continuous, rather than intermittent, help integration platforms pull in new data sources as they materialize.
“The ability to refine and tune and improve things like integration, AI, analytics, on a continuous cycle, as opposed to having it be event driven, is certainly an emerging trend and a best practice that we see a lot of.”
