Thomas Wyatt, Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at AppDynamics & Ben Nye, CEO of Turbonomic, sit down with Stu Miniman at Cisco Live US 2019 in San Diego, CA. #CLUS #Cisco #theCUBE https://siliconangle.com/2019/06/17/appdynamics-turbonomic-partnership-drives-automation-aiops-clus/ AppDynamics, Turbonomic partnership drives IT automation through AIOps The recent collaboration between Turbonomic Inc., a software company focused on application performance, and AppDynamics LLC provides further evidence that larger enterprises are turning to artificial intelligence for managing and improving information technology productivity. “The trend that we’re seeing is a move toward this concept of AIOps,” said Thomas Wyatt (pictured, left), chief marketing and strategy officer at AppDynamics. “What we’re seeing is the combination of Cisco plus AppDynamics plus companies like Turbonomic is beginning to build that self-healing, self-learning environment where developers and IT need to be able to drive automation.” Wyatt spoke with Stu Miniman (@stu), host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile livestreaming studio, during the Cisco Live event in San Diego, California. He was joined by Ben Nye (pictured, right), chief executive officer of Turbonomic, and they discussed the integration of both companies’ technologies to leverage AI for managing application performance and the importance of automation for IT as infrastructures become more complex (see the full interview with transcript here). Total application performance Turbonomic is an inaugural member of the AppDynamics Integration Partner Program, and the extended collaboration now includes joint marketing and sales support for Turbonomic’s Application Resource Management, or ARM, solution. ARM will be integrated with AppDynamics’ Application Performance Management, or APM, product to provide customers with focused automated performance. “We’re bringing application resourcing management with AI so that they’re automatically adjusting the resources at all times continuously in order to support the performance needs that AppDynamics is showing us,” Nye explained. “When you put together APM plus ARM, you have total application performance.” The partnership between the two companies addresses a fundamental need inside many enterprise IT organizations. Gathering data is no longer the issue, but the challenge becomes making sure the infrastructure is properly supporting the applications needed to make full use of the information. “I don’t think people need more tools to capture more data,” Nye said. “They need to understand through the lens of the application all the resource dependencies. Can I make sure that those resources are supporting the application?” AI for IT operations, or AIOps, is becoming more relevant as organizations grapple with the complexities of a multicloud infrastructure.
