Ivanti’s Neurons platform focuses on the self-healing autonomous edge

As the fundamental units of the brain and nervous system, neurons play an important role in automatically relaying the electrical signals that control the human body. So, when Ivanti Inc. was looking to brand its latest hyper-automation platform, Neurons was a top choice.
“The market is demanding hyper-automation; it’s demanding more agnostic deployment; it needs more flexibility,” said Jeff Abbott (pictured, left), president of Ivanti. “Like the neurons in your brain, there will be a lot of superfast automation, superfast sensing of challenges. We really believe Neurons will connect with our target market.”
Abbott spoke with Lisa Martin, host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. He was joined by Nayaki Nayyar (pictured, right), executive vice president and chief product officer at Ivanti, and they discussed how the company’s latest platform enables self-healing of devices at the edge and application of the technology for the healthcare industry. Full stack hyper-automation
Tuesday’s unveiling of Ivanti Neurons marked an important step for the company, which specializes in the automation of information technology and security operations to discover, manage, secure and service devices from cloud to edge. The new platform is designed to proactively self-heal and self-secure devices using automation bots to detect and resolve issues.
“We’re taking hyper-automation and embedding that into our entire stack,” Nayyar said. “One of the key strengths Ivanti has is its ability to discover, secure, manage and service the endpoints. We want to get into a world of the self-healing autonomous edge.”
Ivanti’s foray into the self-healing autonomous edge has practical application in a number of industries, including healthcare. In addition to giving IT the ability to query edge devices, Neurons can allow first-line analysts to resolve issues quickly, which makes a difference in situations affecting patient health.
“IT challenges down at the device level in the healthcare industry can be life critical,” Abbott said. “They need to solve those IT challenges very fast. Neurons is absolutely what the healthcare industry is asking for.”
