BMC Day in Boston reveals strategic insights | #BMCDay
by Heather Johnson | Dec 18, 2015
Representatives from BMC Software, Inc. and industry sponsors met during BMC Day 2015 in Boston to discuss the digital transformation and enterprise management.
As the event kicked off, Dave Vellante, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, noted that BMC is going through its own transformation as a private company. “It gets to write its own narrative,” said Vellante. “There’s a lot of positive momentum around the company right now.”
Cohost Stu Miniman noted that operational efficiency would likely be a key topic during the event. “The real opportunity to transform customer environments is to make things operationally efficient,” he said. “The management layer is where the rubber hits the road. This is the area where BMC and companies like it can help customers through that transformation.”
Cohost Brian Gracely noted that BMC has an opportunity to be relevant in the industry, as well as relevant to its customers. He pointed to event speaker Eveline Oehrlich, VP, research director for infrastructure and operations professionals at Forrester Research, Inc., who said that companies should “be very focused on mobile first. Be very focused on what mobile means to the customer experience. That will change how your business engages.”
