Mobile-first mentality permeates the enterprise | #reinvent
by Amber Johnson | Oct 7, 2015
With the rise of cloud technology comes a new era for enterprise with a new set of demands. The most important of these is mobility, not just for access for current users, but also for application seekers. Amazon Marketplace provides the opportunity for mobile app solutions provider Kony Inc. to present its latest free trials and purchasable full applications.
“Everyone has to think about mobile,” said Matt Terry, Kony’s VP of product marketing, who has observed a trend in enterprise of “mobile first.”
During an interview with theCUBE from the SiliconANGLE Media team, Terry stated his customers “need host solutions from us.” While Kony’s primary focus has shifted to mobile applications, the company still offers on-premises solutions. Currently, Kony has two offerings on Amazon Marketplace. The first is a free developer application, and the second is a “larger software” option.
Designing the best user experience
The developer application is primarily a visual presentation that allows the user to see the prototype and share it with colleagues. These prototypes are multi-channel and multi-platform. Terry described the goal of the Visualizer as helping to “design the best experience possible” and “design as seamless a product as possible.” The Visualizer is available from Kony.com, and it comes with templates that the user can drag and drop.
Terry said he is “excited about AWS helping” Kony continue to grow. Currently, Kony has “hundreds of customers at the top of the enterprise.” Kony has a “tremendous amount of data on the back end,” and AWS helps them with Big Data ingestion, as well as providing a “way to get the product into the customers’ hands.”
