Amanda Richardson, Head of Product at Prezi, had an in-depth conversation on consumerization of enterprise, the rise of mobility and Prezi's latest developments, with theCube co-hosts SiliconAngle's Founder John Furrier and Wikibon's Principal Research Contributor Jeff Kelly, at the recently concluded Stanford-Accel Symposium event. (Full video below.)
Speaking of Prezi's role in enterprises, Richardson said Prezi reinvents the traditional presentation with beautiful slides with a virtual whiteboard that enables presenters to create, develop, and explore editing capabilities. At the heart of Prezi's development environment is the web interface. The slide presentation software provides word processing for writing speeches, ideas, notes and more.
Asked to explain how mobile, web technologies and cloud computing (aka Enterprise 2.0) are affecting consumer expectation, Richardson said that at Prezi they call it the consumerization of Enterprise, and we are increasingly seeing a shift not only to BYOD and the use of one device for work and personal use purposes, but there has been a lot of talk about the consumerization of the enterprise and consumer. She added there is a boom in the idea economy, where businesses are placing a premium on ideas that matter and will have a big impact.
As far as Prezi plans are concerned, Richardson said mobile devices have fundamentally changed the way we work and play, and opportunities to share more important stories and make an impact. Developing and sharing ideas in meaningful and memorable ways is what Prezi is all about, and this redesign opens up a powerful platform to everyone. Prezi uses visual and structural metaphors that are relevant to a variety of presentation scenarios.
She added Prezi's templates are enhanced by professionally designed presentation and images, which are not linear like PowerPoint. This makes it even easier to develop and share big ideas through beautiful, engaging, and memorable presentations.
Commenting on how Prezi use data in presentations, templates and product development, Richardson said Prezi use measurable outcome data on all their initiatives including user behavior, KPIs, and presentation templates. See Richardson's entire segment below:
