Chris Stansbury, Lumen
Chris Stansbury of Lumen serves as president and chief financial officer and discusses networking's evolving role in artificial intelligence infrastructure and distributed computing. In this theCUBE Research interview hosted by John Furrier and Dave Vellante, Stansbury explores Lumen's fiber expansion, edge strategy and how networking becomes the operating layer for distributed AI and resilience. Stansbury emphasizes that more than half of Lumen's revenue is now strategic and growing at approximately 53% and that Alkira accelerates Lumen's east-west multi-cloud capabilities by two to three years. They note plans to reach roughly 58 million fiber miles by 2031, network as a service momentum that grows at high-20s to low-30s percent quarter over quarter and the need for programmable low-latency networking to support sovereign and resilient AI deployments.
