In this segment from theCUBE’s GSA Awards Celebration, CMO Andreas Urschitz of Infineon joins John Furrier just moments after Infineon receives the Outstanding EMEA Semiconductor Company honor. Urschitz reflects on his 30-year journey in the semiconductor industry, from starting as a student to standing on stage as a winner, and shares what it feels like to see a once tight-knit sector step onto a truly global stage as a core technology behind modern life.
The conversation explores how Infineon’s microcontrollers, sensors and power semiconductors suppo...Read more

What are the benefits of semiconductors in creating a clean future?add
>> I'm John Furrier with theCUBE. We are backstage getting all the winners are coming off fast and furious. Andreas is here, just won the award for the most respect ... It's the outstanding EMEA semiconductor company, Infineon. Congratulations. Love the speech, love the poses. You're super pumped. How's it feel?
Andreas Urschitz
>> Yeah, it's a wonderful feeling. After having been so many years in that industry and starting from scratch, as I said in the speech as a student, and now 30 years later, finding myself here on stage receiving such an award, it's an honorary feeling, I have to say.
John Furrier
>> What was it like up there looking out across the industry? This industry that go back 10 years ago, small industry, everyone kind of knew each other. Now, the global stage. How's it feel?
Andreas Urschitz
>> Yeah, it is a wonderful feeling, because I was always believing in the power of technology, being an imminent part of the solution, helping mankind to simply flourish, making our lives easier, safer, cleaner, and semiconductor being the same major part of this one. And all of a sudden, we find ourself in the middle of semiconductors being a core technology to enable the way of living like we are doing and probably also part of the solution going tomorrow to digitalize and also decarbonize plant Earth. That's what I like very much.
John Furrier
>> A clean future. It means two things, clean life, clean energy. This year, what's it been like in 2025? 2026 looks like a very fast pace. What's it been like for you this past year?
Andreas Urschitz
>> Yeah, look, so talking about clean future. So the big thing about making things greener is it's also a massive business case and talking about semiconductors and Infineon. So we are the company which is providing planet Earth with microcontroller sensors and even more so power semiconductors, which help to make less out of more and save energy, energy in terms of electricity, which is scarce and using less in order to get out more. That is something which it takes to, at the end, keeping planet Earth be a place worth living and stop then also a diesel global warming.
John Furrier
>> Yeah, absolutely. We have seen energy is bounding the functionality and having it save the planet at the same time. Andreas, thank you so much for coming on. Congratulations for your award and thanks for stopping by the GSA, theCUBE here. Appreciate it.
Andreas Urschitz
>> Thank you so much. Thanks for being here.
John Furrier
>> Okay. I'm John Furrier with theCUBE. We have more action coming. The winner is coming off fast and furious. We'll be right back.
