>> Hello everyone, and welcome back to theCUBE's coverage of the AWS Financial Services Symposium here in New York City. I'm your host, Rebecca Knight. I would like to welcome Jacob Lim. He is the cloud solutions architect at NetApp. Thank you so much for coming on the show, Jacob.

>> Thanks for having me. I'm glad to be here.

>> So let's start out by talking a little bit about your role at NetApp and give us a sense of where the company sits today and what you're focused on in terms of financial services.
Jacob Lim
>> Yeah. So I'm one of the cloud solutions architect at NetApp. My focus is on AWS. NetApp is a leader in data management with our NetApp ONTAP storage software. Our customer rely on NetApp ONTAP to manage, protect, and store their data. We work with AWS to bring this solution to the cloud. Amazon FSX for NetApp ONTAP is the result of that collaboration. It is designed to bring enterprise grid storage to AWS.

>> So financial services firms moving to the cloud often face a real tension. They want the benefits of the cloud, but they can't walk away from the storage tools that their teams already know and already trust. Can you talk a little bit about how you create value for customers?
Jacob Lim
>> Exactly. We create value for customers by making it simple to migrate and run their data in AWS. By combining proven NetApp ONTAP capabilities, such as space efficient snapshots, near instant data cloning capabilities with minimal storage overhead and storage performance. And then there is also the highly efficient data replication and also the built-in ransomware detection engine natively built into the operating system directly. Combined that with AWS scale and elasticity, customer gained resilience, performance, and operational simplicity in the cloud.

>> Let's bring this to life with a customer story. Can you walk us through a recent engagement, what a customer was trying to solve, and how you came in to help with the solution?
Jacob Lim
>> One of our customers, SMP Global, selected Amazon FSX for NetApp ONTAP to modernize their SQL server environment while ensuring disaster recovery and high availability as they exit their data center. They needed to migrate mission-critical SQL server to AWS without disrupting day-to-day operation while adopting cost-effective cloud native solution. FSX4 NetApp ONTAP stood out due to a strong price performance, native AWS integration of the ability to deploy multi-availability zone, and also cross-region replication. As a result, SMP Global is able to continuously optimize costs, maintain data availability while successfully migrate the SQL server environment to AWS.
